During the month of May, I was privileged to be present when our young people received Jesus for the first time through the Eucharist. I remembered my own First Communion Day and the powerful gift that the Eucharist is in my life. I am especially grateful to Miss Giors, who helped them prepare.

Congratulations to Mrs. Laura Abraham who was recently recognized as Teacher of the Year. Laura is truly a gift to our school and an absolutely terrific teacher! On a daily basis, Laura demonstrates her passion for teaching. She motivates her students to excel and enjoys extending learning beyond textbooks. Laura uses technology in her classroom in exciting ways and develops a foundation which inspires growth and good work. She encourages the children to be their best. It is no wonder she is the Teacher of the Year!

This week we have been very busy with Student Council elections. We have many students running for offices. It is wonderful to see these student leaders excited to serve. Each is coming with great ideas on how to make our school an even better place. I believe that each student who is running for an office is already a “winner.”

What an honor to listen to the 8^th graders share their SLE Portfolios! Each of them have accomplished so much. Next week, we proudly send them on to high school. These students will leave us with honor and values instilled in them by loving parents and caring teachers. We wish them fond memories, bright beginnings, and all the success they deserve.

As a faculty we share the gift of education with you and your children, bringing you the best we have, and you as families with your care, support, and trust, share your special gifts with us. I feel so blessed to be part of this magnificent community. As we approach the last weeks of the school year, I want to thank you for the many ways you have supported Holy Name of Mary School. We want you to know how much we appreciate your valuable contributions. I look forward to another year with your children and our dedicated faculty and staff who serve this school so well.
