7^th & 8^TH GRADE MONTHLY MATH NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to 7^th and 8^th grade math! This is a very exciting because we are using a new math series, Prentice Hall.Practice tests, quizzes and tutors are available on-line. See page CA27 in their math book.

Homework is assigned daily and due the next day. The assignments must be neat, labeled and dated. The students are required to show their work whenever possible. I will demonstrate what is expected in classroom. Finally, the homework must have an answer column.

The routine of the classroom:

• Daily warm-up
• During the warm-up I will check ~5 problems
• Instruction
• Guided practice (Students will be brought to the board to ensure understanding)
• Homework assignment

The procedures in the classroom are pretty routine. But there will days when we have small groups, whiteboard activities, or math games.
