2nd Grade Monthly News - March, 2012
As persons of faith helping their community they brought in LOTS of pennies, silver coins, and dollar bills. They worked hard to share their own money with the Leukemia, Lymphoma Society. They were very generous.
On Monday, March 5, the second graders participated in their first retreat and received Reconciliation for their first time. They shared that they liked their parents introducing them and the washing of the hands. Many students said they asked their parents to receive the sacrament also. (Some even took pictures of the parent receiving.) Most students mentioned that they felt very comfortable talking to their priest! They were very excited and emerged from church looking like little angels.
The second graders are getting ready to celebrate many holidays in this month of March. They will learn about St. Patrick, St. Joseph, the feast of the Annunciation, Palm Sunday, and Holy Week (April 1).
In preparation for Holy Week they are preparing to present the Stations of the Cross (in art form…Posters). Family and friends are invited to come and worship with us. This prayer presentation will be on Wednesday, April 4 @ 2:30 in the church.
The students have been working with multiplication and division and are going to learn more about fractions. Most of their work is now being done in very neat cursive. They are great at working neatly.
They are also eagerly awaiting Easter break. God’s blessings to you for a prayerful Holy Week and a joyous Easter season.
