PE Monthly News - March, 2012

Our lower grade students worked on moving with different cues. We practiced with “Red light, Green Light” and Parachute activities. Children responded to verbal and visual cues to signal them to move or stop movement. Students in grades 5, 6, and 8 finished three physical fitness tests. Students can check and compare their results on RenWeb; please view the web document that shows the different percentiles for the Presidential Physical Fitness Benchmarks. Thank you again to Mr. Rentmeester for motivating and supporting us during these fitness challenges! Here’s a healthy snack you might want to try:

Simple Snack Mix: Combine 1 cup whole grain cereal (squares or Os work best), ¼ cup dried fruit of your choice, ¼ cup nuts, such as walnut pieces, slivered almonds, or pistachios, ¼ cup small, whole-grain snack crackers or pretzels
