Hello! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Miss Gallego and I am the new P.E. Teacher.  I am excited to help our students achieve their health and fitness goals. I would like to share with you some information that will be expected in class.

Class Expectations
Students are expected to participate with 100% effort, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and follow the dress code. Students are encouraged to use the restroom at recess or lunch and must always ask for permission before using the restroom.
 
Dressing for P.E.
Students (grades 3-8) must wear their P.E. uniform and tennis shoes even if they have a parent note or if it’s raining.  Students will receive a warning the 1st time they do not dress for P.E., the 2nd time a note will be sent home to the parent and the student will receive detention. If the student does not dress in uniform 3 times or more, it will affect their grade.
 
Notes from Parents
The note will need to include what is wrong with the student, the number of days the student is out for P.E. and if you would like the student to participate in a modified manner. Please also include the date with your signature.
 
Homework
  • Weekly health and fitness challenges
  • Notebooks (grades 4-8 only) - reflection, notes, essays
    *Students will need a P.E. notebook by Wed. 9/5/07
Activities
Variety of sports (soccer, volleyball, softball, etc.), fitness stations, teambuilding activities, and health discussions
