Welcome to Mrs. Vena’s science class!  I am so excited to have you in my class.  Each week you will receive this science update.  It will inform you  and your parents what we will be working on each week and what your homework will be.  This update can also be found on my blog (www.venascience.blogspot.com) and the school website (www.holynamemaryschool.org ).

            Policy and Procedure handouts will go home on Tuesday.  These need to be read, signed and returned by parents.

            I begin every year with a unit on the microscope.  The Science Standards expect students to have mastered the microscope by the 8^th grade.  Also, high school biology teachers expect students to come to their classes with these skills.  This week we will begin with basic handling, anatomy and focusing.

Wednesday – Microscope worksheet, due Friday.
