Booster Club Meeting - February 22, 2010
Date: Monday, February 22, 2010
Attendance: Wally Mendoza, Janelle Gallego, Albert Gonzaz, Angela Gutierrez, and Debbi Lawrence
Notes:
1. The minutes of the last meeting were not available for approval.
2. The financial report was not available to discuss.
3. Jog-a-thon:
a) Date of jog-a-thon is Friday (3/26/10)
b) Food suggestion: bean and cheese burritos, nachos, candy, drinks
c) Albert will bring burritos to sample next meeting from “Pico de Gallo” restaurant.
d) We want to use tickets (like we did with snow cones) when people purchase food items.
e) We will finalize these decisions at the next meeting.
4. Sports Banquet:
a) Location: At HNM School
b) Concerns and solutions: In order to prevent children from disrupting the banquet, we want to inform parents/students that they must sit together (an adult must be present). We would like to run the banquet very similar to the scholastic awards. Chairs will be placed in rows on the HNM basketball court. In order to shorten the length of time, we suggested announcing players similar to a graduation ceremony in alphabetical order. An example: “Mary Alvarez, participant in volleyball and track; David Banks, participant in football, basketball, and track….” Players will walk in front of the court and a certificate will be handed to them. After these announcements, each coach will be called out to present their trophies.
5. Athletic Director Report:
a) Softball with Coach Sanchez begins this week and track with Coach Salas begins next week.
b) We are still looking for a boys varsity volleyball coach, the season begins March 1st until May.
c) Tom is going to pick up track spirit T-shirt order forms; Janelle will follow up with this.
6. News for next year: The Booster Club will have openings for these positions: President, Vice President, and Treasurer
