Junior Girl Scout Troop 3664              McKinley Easter Basket Project

We are making 45 Easter baskets for the McKinley Children’s Center, San Dimas. McKinley provides housing & counseling services to boys ages 6 to 17 who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned.

Please help by donating the following items:

• Easter candy, beef jerky, fruit snacks, etc.
• Football & baseball trading cards
• Travel size games, toiletries, socks or any Easter basket items except plastic eggs

Academic Junior High Decathlon

On March 6^th our team participated in the 20^th Academic Jr. High Decathlon at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. This exciting celebration of learning brought together 101 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with over 1,000 students participating. Anna came home with 2^nd place in Current Events; Damian placed 5^th in Mathematics; Raquel placed 9^th in Science and Dominick placed 10^th in Fine Arts. Overall, our team placed 17^th. Other members of our team are Robert, Katie, Molly, Bailie, Andrew, Alexis, Madison, Gabriel, Joey, Kelley, and Matthew. These students spent endless hours preparing for this competition. Besides learning their subject matter, they learned how to work with others and skills and study habits that will serve them well for years to come. We are thankful to our coaches, Kristy Vena and Debbie Marquez who spent a zillion hours researching study materials and preparing our team. We are extremely proud of them all!

HNM School 2010 World Math Champs are:

THE FAMILY LIFE PROGRAM – all grades are on chapter 2 this week. Please review what your children are learning in your parent resource book.             

THE WORD OF GOD PROGRAM – is up & running. The WORD of GOD is, a once a month, scripture based study brought to the children by US, the parents. The lesson plans are completely done for us. The lesson plan books are in the office ready for you to bring the WORD of GOD to our children. If you are interested in leading a lesson please call Heather Hoynes 909-525-0770 for grades Pre-K thru 3^rd, or Giselle Smith 909-229-0889 for grades 4^th thru 8^th.  All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

The Beer Garden/Wine Bar is in need of wine donations. If anyone is able to donate a case of wine (10-12 bottles), it would be most appreciated. If you are interested in donating wine or working the booth, please call Mr. or Mrs. Elias @ 909-596-4545.

The next Spring Festival mtg. is on Thurs., Feb. 25^th @ 7:30 PM in the Faculty rm. Please join us if you would like to get involved. We need lots of HELP and there is something to do for everyone. 

Spring Festival Boutique is looking for donations of New or Like New items in the following categories: Kitchen Accessories dish & glassware, restaurant gift cards, linens, cookbooks, etc. Mother’s Day items: soaps, lotions, perfumes pampering gift cards, etc. Faith articles for either religious gifts or home décor Garden items: tools, art, stepping stones, plants, etc. Kids items: First Communion, Graduation, books, toys, etc. All Holiday items.  Please call Darlene Capuano @ 909-596-2360 to contribute to our event. Items may be dropped off @ HNM School during school hours. We need YOU to help make this year’s Boutique spectacular!

Do you have a creative mind? The festival’s boutique is looking for a parent who would like to volunteer to be on the boutique committee, to coordinate one, themed area. If you are interested in helping our, please contact Natalie Ortiz @ 909-596-9867

Got Talent?  Come show us!  Come for the evening of fun.  Perform in our TALENT SHOW at the Festival.  Earn volunteer hours for your talent!  The Talent Show will be Saturday, April 17^th, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.  For more information please call Morgan Sternquist at (909) 239-9921.

Do you like to bake? Do you want to help a good cause? If so, please get out your favorite recipes and get ready to bake for the HNM Festival. The Bakery Booth needs cookies, brownies, pies, cakes, etc. If interested in baking and/or helping to staff the booth, please contact Janet Reilly @ 909-228-3543 or Vanessa Gonzalez @ 626-482-0312 ( School parents will get credit for baked goods, as well as hours worked!)
