Academic Junior High Decathlon

On March 6th our team participated in the 20th Academic Jr. High Decathlon at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. This exciting celebration of learning brought together 101 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with over 1,000 students participating. Anna came home with 2nd place in Current Events; Damian placed 5th in Mathematics; Raquel placed 9th in Science and Dominick placed 10th in Fine Arts. Overall, our team placed 17th. Other members of our team are Robert, Katie, Molly, Bailie, Andrew, Alexis, Madison, Gabriel, Joey, Kelley, and Matthew. These students spent endless hours preparing for this competition. Besides learning their subject matter, they learned how to work with others and skills and study habits that will serve them well for years to come. We are thankful to our coaches, Kristy Vena and Debbie Marquez who spent a zillion hours researching study materials and preparing our team. We are extremely proud of them all!
