From the Principal's Desk - April/May 2010
Dear Parents,
There is truly a wonderful sense of community at our school!
Over Easter vacation 22 of our 8th grade students, eight parents, and two teachers traveled to Washington D.C. They visited historic Jamestown, colonial Williamsburg, Mt. Vernon, the White House, the Holocaust Museum, the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Hill and more. My thanks to Mrs. Alarcon and Mrs. Cassidy and also to the 8th grade parents who attended. It was a unique opportunity for our students to learn about history beyond the classroom walls.
It was wonderful to see so many families working together at our festival. The weekend was perfect and was packed with family, friends, good food, and great times. Your generous and enthusiastic spirit was evident everywhere! A tremendous thanks goes to chairperson’s Tom Kay and Dave Bugelli.
Mrs. Marshall, our Teacher of the Year, is cheerful, organized, creative, loving, dedicated, and most of all inspirational. She appreciates the gifts of her students and goes above and beyond to provide a fun learning environment. She has the love of teaching in her heart and it shows. She truly deserves this honor! She will be recognized at a banquet at Sierra La Verne Country Club on May 4. For reservations, please call the La Verne Chamber of Commerce at 909-593-5265. Tickets are $35 pp.
Thank you for the outpouring of love and support my family and I received during the recent death of my husband, Pete. We have been showered with your kindness. Your visits to our home, your beautiful cards and messages on the school’s website, your prayers, gifts of food and flowers will never be forgotten. The rosary and the beautiful DVD of Pete’s life, the children singing and bringing up their gifts of flowers during the Mass, the reception, and the very generous donations to the memorial scholarship are deeply appreciated. God bless you all.
Touched by your love,
Candice Kuzmickas
