Safety Report
Update on the fire alarm system:
Candy -The problem occurs when the fire bell goes off:
  - If you're outside you can't hear it.
  - In the junior building it is extremely loud.
  - In the senior building it is not loud enough.
  - This is a safety issue.
  - Ron was asked to work on a resolution
Ron -  Provides a brief update on working with the fire alarm company and also the issue of not meeting fire code.
Kathy Hurt - May have a prospective contact for an estimate
Fr. Tom - If this is a safety issue it needs to properly be considered for a solution and we need to stay away from band-aid solutions.
Ron -  We are awaiting a status letter (with recommendation) from Richard on the current system.
Elenor  - Would there be grants available to fund this fix? May be worth an internet search...

Regarding traffic:
Ron - Traffic - seemed to flow well.

Candy - received a call from an angry neighbor regarding the line of cars blocking the homes/intersection south of the school. This will work out with time.
Remarks from the Parish Community
Fr. Tom
 - Stephany Reh pointed out that Fr. Tom was giving out incorrect info that he was not aware of...the actual # of family participation is 125 which is about 50%
 - Bob Fleming will leave HNM as an employee at the end of this week. His last day will be Friday.
o Fr. Tom decided to redistribute Bob's responsibilities at HNM, however, prior to that re-designation, he resigned.
 - An important meeting occurred downtown today - it was successful and we will receive a $5.5 million line of credit taking us to November where the Church, parking lots and buildings will be complete with the exception of the hall. The existing hall will be taken down & will not be replaced until more money is raised or at least pledged to $4 million. The earliest we can build a hall is probably 2007.
 - 1999 - campaign started; to date we have reached over $6 million.
 - The Church is on schedule
 - Question raised - why can't current hall stay up?
o It's currently out of code.
o There is asbestos in the hall.
o It's too expensive to remove the asbestos and then do anything with the building ($1/2 million worth of work just to keep the same hall).
o The decision was made at the Executive Council that the buildings need to come down.

Principal's Report
Candy Kuzmickas
   - Discussion on the ITBS (Iowa) Testing results (see charts provided by Candy) -the results assist faculty in the Curriculum, selecting materials, evaluating the school.
o All class averages are at average or above average in the stanines
   - Hot lunch Update - Candy spoke with 3 groups for catering options
o Bonita USD could provide the lunches by preparing them at their location.
    * HNM collects money & distributes lunches
    * Each morning HNM would have to provide a lunch count by 8:30am
o Archdiocese - would keep the current program ($2.00/day)
    * HNM would receive a rebate relative to the number of lunches sold
    * Lunch coordinator's salary is covered by archdiocese
    * They will modify the PE room for a split cost of $2400. This would come out of the rebate.
    o S & B Foods - $3.00 per day & $.50 for milk only
    * They do all the work: ordering, menu, staffing.
    * They would work out of the PE room.
    * They would need to install a refrigerator.
    * Because there is no oven, they would serve fast foods.
    * We would earn nothing, though.
    * If we stay with them through the time that we move into a full kitchen, the menu options widen, and then we would see a 25 cent rebate for each meal served
While the PE Room can be converted to a hot lunch room, where will the PE equipment be stored? This needs to be worked out.
Decision #1 - will we continue a hot lunch program? A voted passed to continue a hot lunch program.
Decision #2 - which vendor to select? A vote passed to stay with Archdiocese as lunch vendor.

We will not have summer school or day care during the summer Enrollment for Pre K is at 28 & growing Kindergarten numbers are at 40.
The Dinner Dance was a great event with a profit of $25,000.
