  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In our Parish We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Mon. Jan 28  

  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In our Community
  • Our Catholic Schools Week service project will be collecting twin size blankets and participating in a Walk-A-Thon for Inland Valley Hope Partners Our House Shelter.
  • 2nd & 6th  grade will visit the seniors across the street
  • The Book Fair will be open during recess and lunch and from 1-3:30 p.m.

Tues. Jan 29  

  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In Our Students
  • Students may dress in school colors-blue and gold.
  • Students are invited to bring their favorite board games.
  • School dismissed at 12:30 p.m.
  • Open House 7:00-8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited! Refreshments will be served. There will be an information session for prospective new families @ 7:30 p.m. in Rm 5.
  • The Book Fair will be open 10-10:30 a.m.; 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.

Wed. Jan. 30  

  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In Our Faculty and Staff
  • This is a day to honor those who devote their lives to educating students in an atmosphere of academic excellence and Catholic faith.
  • Jan. Jean day
  • Morning Assembly will focus on our faculty and staff
  • Students & teachers play a game of volleyball @ 2:15 p.m.
  • The Book Fair will be open during recess and lunch and from 1-3:30 p.m.

Thurs. Jan. 31  

  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In Our Vocations
  • The Sisters of Saint Louis and the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts founded our school.
  • Students will have an assembly where they can learn more about vocations from our founders.  
  • The Book Fair will be open during recess and lunch and from 1-3:30 p.m.

Fri. Feb.1  

  • Catholic Schools Light the Way: In the Special Persons in our Lives
    Students are invited to bring their special person to school. This is a non-uniform day.
    • 8:30 a.m. First Friday Mass
    • 9:15 a.m. Students will perform for our guests in our Field of Angels. Bring your own chairs please.
    • 10:00 a.m. Recess fun with our special persons
    • 10:30 a.m. Visit the classrooms
    • 11:15 a.m. Lunch and games sponsored by the 7th grade.
    • 12:15 p.m. Return to the classrooms to prepare for dismissal 
    • 12:30 p.m. Dismissal
  • The Book Fair will be open 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Holy Name of Mary School has been blessed with an anonymous donation of
$6,000 for our Endowment Fund! What a marvelous gift to receive on the eve of
Catholic Schools Week. Just think of how it will help us continue to “light the way”
through Catholic Education. May God Bless the giver and keep him in His care.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Screening on Feb. 16 – Students entering Pre-K in the fall
must be 4 years old by Sept. 1; Kindergarten students must be 5. Please call the office
@ 542-0449 ext. 224 for an appointment or for information on fall enrollment for Grades 1 – 8.

Aids Education – From Jan. 22-31 the National Catholic Education AIDS Prevention Program will be taught in grades K-8.

Kid’s Club – No after-school Kid’s Club on Jan. 29 and Feb. 7.

Donuts Donuts Donuts – 7th grade is hosting donuts & coffee Sunday, Jan. 27. All proceeds will go towards the 8th grade graduation dinner and dance. We need student volunteers to help serve and parent volunteers to monitor. It will be the first day of Catholic Schools Week and hopefully, we’ll be very busy. Please call if you can help! Ash Wednesday – Fr. John will say Mass for children at 10:40 a.m. Please come and pray with us.

Morning Assembly – Our outdoor assembly during the first week of Feb. will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5th instead of Wednesday. We will introduce the members of the visiting WASC Team. Please come.

Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Awards Program provides partial tuition assistance to students whose families are living at or below the CEF income guidelines (see enclosed application and family income guidelines). Applications and proof of income are due to Mrs. Kuzmickas on or before February 15th. 8th grade applicants must contact their Catholic high school and request their deadline to submit CEF applications. Submit application and proof of income directly to the high school.

Special Persons’ Day- don’t forget to order your lunch for that Special Person. Order forms in school office. Also, flower grams are available for $2.00.
